Now that the NBN is available, they can't actually provide you with a new adsl service anymore and presumably they cant provide you with a new POTS service either. And the copper pair doesn’t even go from the exchange to the house anymore, so there is no copper pair to do that on anymore. And even if they could for example use the spare pair that is able between the pit and the house with most houses, that will cost you $300 to use that. > but talking to telstra is a drama so I told him to give me a new number > but when I rang yesterday I got a girl who told me my number and it was my > old number Does it actually ring the phone plugged into the modem when you call it tho ? > (they will get it right eventually) They havent with mine.
