  AFAIR, I never had the Laplink software, so I checked my notes to see
what I used at the time.

  Apparently I used INTERLNK/INTERSVR (two .exe files). AFAIK, these
came with DOS. There was also some trick to download one of the two the
other computer if you could not transfer the .exe file by other means
(i.e. floppy/diskette). IOW, you could use the link to download the
software needed to use that link, quite nifty!

  I still have my notes and the INTERLNK.HLP file on my XGHz/12GB/1TB
Windows 8.1 laptop! :-)
