Depends on your circumstances. 

Clearly if the most important devices on the 
network don't support 5GHz, there isn't a lot
of point going that route. 

Certainly 2.5GHz is more likely to be congested
where the particularly network is, but quite a bit 
of the time it isn't in practice.
