Its nothing like a fad. It can make a lot of sense to have an unlimited mobile plan for say $50 a month instead of having a landline at all. And once you have one, it can make a lot of sense to use it for almost all communication. > Email was the original internet comms method And then the world moved on with mobiles. > and its under widespread and growing use/provision. Mobile is growing a hell of a lot faster now with the unlimited plans. > If your target market is a certain group, then > you probably need to cater for their fads, Taint a fad. A surprising number of the middle aged and older have given up on their landlines completely now. Main downside is if you don’t have an unlimited plan, it costs a hell of a lot to be left hanging on the line waiting for some arsehole to pick up the l3xx number with a human to talk to. > otherwise naah. Certainly there are quite few who don’t have a mobile, but even more that done have an email address at all, particularly with kids. Although plenty of those do have a facebook account and don’t realise that that comes with an email address. > We're so retrograde that we don't have a mobile phone. Yep, real dinosaurs now. > The one we do carry is only turned on in an emergency and 9/10 > times we need to drop a bit of credit on it to actually make a call. You should get a clue and put an amaysim PAYG sim in it. No need for credit, you just pay for the calls you make.
