This isn't allowed because the regex in dest.alw states "pinger+".

As above, regex states "echolot+".

I don't think they're related.  Your remailers are Middleman so the
destinations are, quite rightly, blocked.  Note that each is followed by
a "Added message to pool".  This is your remailer randhopping the
message to an exit remailer.
