Then you disabled something, as this been default for all distributions
I have run with KDE, in older versions it has been linked to the power
management service.

Just configure your ssdm to start two seats instead of just one, then
you can decide she gets the first one and you take the other one, but of
course then you won't have this to whine about ;)
