However, your demonstration only showed that you DID use a mirror, mirror/s whenever you downloaded and that you FOUND your mirrors by looking through a list of mirrors and that you did NOT choose a mirror in Bulgaria. Instead you made the choice of a mirror in your country and a nearby country. Presumably you made that choice on the assumption that a geographically nearer mirror would be a faster download. > According to you many people know about torrents, so people not using > torrents must be dummies (or stupid or whatever). Hmmm. I think I don't like the manner in which you choose to put (the wrong) words in someone else's mouth. > You do not say so directly (almost), but the message is very clear! I believe that you misunderstand me and maybe that is because you are offended or hurt that you are unfamiliar with torrents and mirrors. Don't take it out on me about what you know or don't know about. > This attitude is why Linux is again not very attractive to newbies. > (the umpteenth time an experienced Linux user neglects that a newbie has > to learn everything, like they themselves did once upon a time.) > They (newbies) are supposed to know things they never heard off. > One or two experiences like this and they are gone ... > (maybe even three if they are persistent to learn something new.) I also don't think I should shoulder the blame for how newbies might be mistreated. We agree that some linux users who are more experienced should be nicer to newbies and we also both know that such a place as usenet has a reputation for being rough sometimes. -- Mike Easter
