And yet you can't point to any insurance operation that has increased
profits over time that way.

Yes, but there isn't any evidence that anyone has
actually increased profits by using made up risks.

And yet you can't actually point to any industry that has produced
record profits that way. The most you can do is point to some
operations like Apple that have turned the industry on its head
with approaches like iTunes and reaped the rewards for doing
that.  That clearly isn't fleecing the customers when they use it
so enthusiastically just because its another great idea that works
very well for them. Same with Amazon and Ebay and Aliexpress.

There certainly are lots of hidden charges, particularly with some
industries like say airlines, but its hard to claim that those are fake
expenses.

But not enough so that many of us have actually experienced that.
And in western europe the data privacy requirements mean that
very little of that is actually possible.

I don't believe that that is at all common in the very litigious US system.

And the school districts tell them that they aren't
going to end up with their arse in a sling doing that.

Why shouldn't they be charged with doing what is illegal ?
