Definitely not two wholes (if you think its 2 > wholes, show me that nonexistent second bathtub). That's not the same. "One and two halves" clearly shows there are 3 objects of two different sizes. A mathematician wouldn't try to add them together, any more than he'd try to add x to y. I could have one and two halves apples, meaning that an apple had ben sliced in half and would go off quicker. Except many companies will say "we have 50 years of experience", or at least "50 years of combined experience" or similar. And it does make sense. 20 + 30 does equal 50 years of experience.
