Either del it from your module namespace, or use the qualified name:

>>> int="five"
>>> [__builtins__.int(i) for i in ["1","2","3"]]
[1, 2, 3]
>>> del int
>>> [int(i) for i in ["1","2","3"]]
[1, 2, 3]

It's shadowed, not overwritten.
