Ich glaube, die üblichen Sateliten-Orbits sind noch viel niedriger (im 
Verhältnis zum Erdradius) als in deinem Diagram, weswegen der Effekt 
noch viel deutlicher sein könnte.

Bei dir wäre die Umlaufbahn grob geschätzt 3000 km über dem Erdboden. 
Aber meistens sind die Orbits von Sateliten niedriger. Die z.B. ISS 
fliegt nur etwa 300 bis 400 km über dem Boden.

Dadurch sehen die Gebiete unterhalb der Raumstation natürlich im 
Verhälnis noch viel größer aus.
