Proprietäre Waschmittelpatronen gibt es schon:

Sicherung der Teile per Chip (wenn das nicht ohnehin schon so ist) und
Online-Verbrauchsübermittlung ist dann der nächste logische Schritt.

Dymo hat mit dem 550 und 5XL auch DRM für Drucketiketten eingeführt, da
sitzt dann in der Papprolle, auf der Etiketten gerollt sind, ein Chip,
der per NFC ansprochen wird und den Etikettenverbrauch protokolliert.
Wird natürlich als "Komfort"-Feature verkauft, dass man dann auch keine
Etiketten von Drittherstellern ohne den Chip verwenden kann.
