I don't know if this is the same thing, but that sounds a lot like the 
problem I had when I upgraded to a 2Tb hard drive.

If you drive is smaller than 2Tb, then it's probably not the same 
problem, but if your drive is 2Tb or more then it may be the same thing, 
in which case I'll see if I can dig out the instructions I found to fix it.
