It might coincidentally work, but it certainly isn't guaranteed to, 
since you're storing into space that hasn't been ALLOTted.

DP isn't supposed to be affected by ! in any way.  If it were, that 
would be a bug.

That is correct (though clumsy) usage. Properly speaking, one should do 
the ALLOT right after the CREATE in order to properly reserve the space.

There is nothing to fix. Bigforth is working as it should.
