You've got that backwards. The reason most ISPs no long have a usenet server
is because hardly any of their customers ever used it when they did have 
one.

Even when they did provide that information,
most users still had no idea usenet even exists.

And they all know that facebook etc exists even
when no ISPs have any facebook etc server.

Using that line, they wouldn’t have email
servers either, but most of them do.
