at which the sectors move under the heads.

More fool you. It makes a hell of a lot more sense to have
a lot more physical ram so the swap file doesn’t get used.

files from one 'drive' to another.

But have never understood the basics like the FACT that
the thruput with stuff that isn't cached is determined by
the rate at which the sectors move under the heads with
modern fast seeking drives.
