The short answer is No.

BootManager doesn't work on USB drive, and neither does LVM.
Since you can't install eCS from a CD without using LVM, it will
never succeed.

You can however copy an existing installation to USB drive, and then
remove LVM drivers, and use danidasd instead.

It is not an easy task to setup, and may require other tricks too; 
but I did have a partition bootable on a USB stick some time ago.
