Hugh Huntzinger is convinced that 
free daycare will solve the inflation "non-issue".

The cost of building a SR-520 floating bridge went up 10 % a year
( ( 4.56 + .25 )/ .0247 billion $ ) ^( 1/( 2018 - 1963 ) ).

The new bridge is better, obviously,
but there isn't a cheaper alternative;
in a nutshell, this is the story of Blue Seattle.

I was making 30 thousand $/year in 1983, age 23, Provo Utah.

Given the 10 % inflation, that'd be 1.2 million $/year today
30*1.1^( 2022 - 1983 ).

In 1963, "my" house cost 30 thousand $;
today, the (ancient) house sells for 1.23 million $,
according to Zillow.

To not be poor, you need to earn 600 $/hour, 40 hours/week.
Ordinary plumbers make 300 $/hour.
Einstein famously said he should've been a plumber.

I was poorish, lower middle class, back then, 1983.

I was living in a condo, with a pool & cable TV.

On one side was the gorgeous Provo river;
famous for its trout fishing ( & Sundance ski resort ).

A few feet from my house there was a beaver dam,
damning water going into the river...
beautiful parks, well forested.

On the other side was my place of employment,
a few minutes walk, where I programmed computers.

I had a wife & two young kids.

From there, it was all downhill, moneywise
( I never cared about money ).

Most of the money went to my babies' mama;
it was weird, otherworldly.

She upgraded to a better man, I don't blame her;
it was a good decision for both of us.

Ironically, they met at 
the volleyball games that I organized.

My mom was tripping on LDS (naturally), 
my brother was tripping on LSD ( also naturally ),
& I was there in the middle, "enjoying" it all.

Since then, nothing has changed much.
