Apple has been able to be creative in those spaces. Pages is NOT a clone of
MS Word... and it does many things better (but is much more limited).
Numbers is very different than Excel and has some pretty clear pros and
cons. Keynote is different than PowerPoint and is, in most ways, better.

One of the challenges with open source is the lack of creativity... which
leads to less real choice.

If they stuck with LO they would be far more limited -- they would have
fewer choices. Not sure how to twist that to sound like it is good.
