These sorts of things are NEVER as easy as they seem. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be done, don't need to be done - but don't expect 'easy' unless it's some tiny 3rd-world shithole. "Regime change" in, say, Ivory Coast would be easy. Iran - NOT. Iran is clearly run by FANATICS and has been since the 70s. They're entrenched - deep and wide - and hold all the firepower. A 'popular revolt' is possible - but even thus it's unclear whether it could prevail against the Imams and Revolutionary Guard. Bad situation. Remember "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran" ? THAT would have been the time. Nobody acted. The Shah was an asshole but the Islamists were 10 times worse. We all HOPED for a weak useless 9th- century mess - got a serious world power instead. Anyway, we HAVE done a LOT of damage to their 'military superiority'. This is good. However they can still leverage 'terrorism'.
