Unfortunately that's not how it works. Viruses don't stand still, they evolve. Rapidly. A leaky vaccine results in viruses that are adapted to it, such as we have now in the Omicron variant and its descendants. Fortunately these strains are less virulent than the original, but it's unwise to take that for granted. Highly vaccinated countries, like Japan, or Israel, where four shots are required, have not seen covid disappear. In fact, they still seem to have quite a lot of it.
