There is no reason to think that this one has no > future. Yes, I was not referring to command.com, but to cmd.exe, the command line shell. I do not think that cmd.exe will suddenly disappear, however I don't think that it will get any new features and evolve. Anyhow VBS is more flexible and easy to use, even though the syntax is less concise. Vincent
