It was a large new global study, funded by a foundation that is
heavily concerned with public health (Gates), with no reason
to be biased one way or another. They are simply interested
in finding out what is healthy.

To me, even a single drink a day seems like a lot.
Yet previous studies had deemed that level mildly beneficial.
Turns out it's mildly detrimental.

And the thing is, most drinkers don't have just one.
They usually have more than one. The data clearly show the
rate of illness rising with the amount of drinking.

These studies still haven't made it down to my level of drinking.
One drink a day would still be 30 drinks a month. My partner
and I average maybe 1 or 2 per month. :) Even the effect size
for 1 drink a day is not a huge deal, but it's big enough that
from what I've heard said here, Chris and his wife should maybe
give it some thought.
