Over the past few weeks I have suffered a number of what can only be described as serious problems with emailing using RISC OS. For a couple of weeks, Pluto - my chosen program for years - has been throwing up error message when I try to open freshly debatched messages eg. 20 Apr 00:22:23 100 Title : Error from Pluto 20 Apr 00:22:23 100 Task : Pluto 20 Apr 00:22:23 100 Message : Index may be corrupt at article 11/&2a40. Please try running 'Articles->Repair' from Pluto's icon bar menu. 20 Apr 00:22:23 100 The references to the corrupt article varied every time this happened. I could find no way of fixing this; running 'Articles->Repair' or in this case 'Articles->Repair/Compact' excised a number of suspect articles (those most recently debatched) but fixed nothing in that a subsequent click on an article produced a similar error message relating to a different article. Using menu item 'Misc->Compile references index appears to rediscover those files previously removed but any attempt to read them produces the same error messages as before. As I am writing this messages from Pluto keep popping up reporting that a file may be corrupt eg. Card file does not match article file 45... Is my copy of Pluto corrupt? Or have I missed something essential?
