RICHMOND, Va. (7News) — 7News spoke with Virginia Tech Political Analyst Dr. Cayce Myers on Friday after the Virginia Supreme Court struck down a measure to redraw the commonwealth's congressional districts. When asked if there was a path forward, Myers said he believes this is the end of it. “Well, there may be some appeals that come out of this, but again, I think that the chances of that really kind of depend on some unique strategies. I feel like this may be the end of this discussion. The Virginia Referendum voted in its constitutionality, but again, we’ll just have to wait and see what the attorney general decides," Myers said. "Well, this has really been a politically driven conversation. But when the Court is evaluating it, it’s looking at the constitutional process for referendums – which requires it to be passed in the delegates, there to be an intervening election, and then passed again. And so the intervening election, which already had early voting going on, was really the question that the court was grappling with – and if you listen to oral arguments, a lot of the questions were around that," Myers added. https://wjla.com/news/local/virginia-supreme-court-redistricting-ruling-g errymandering-common-wealth-congress
