Using Window Manager Tweaks, I was able to place the terminal where I want it. It wasn't as simple as it sounds. One of the Window Manager Tweaks is to open the window under the mouse pointer. Usually the terminal icon is in the panel on the bottom left of the screen, so the terminal opened on the bottom left of the screen. I moved the terminal icon to the right side of the panel, and now it opens on the bottom right of the screen.
