I've now tried downloading it again - this time it seems to work (with a
set of random Drawfiles exported from a PDF; they displayed instantly
despite containing multi-megabyte sprites)

However, it wasn't until I looked at the Help file that I realised there
were supposed to be action buttons at the bottom of the window!
While it displays on my screen (current resolution 1600x900) the buttons
are not visible unless I scroll down manually.
(I was just using the left and right arrow keys to navigate without even
realising that there were supposed to be navigation icons; this
indicates a good choice of user interface at any rate.)   :-)
