I have acquired a VAXstation 3100 M38 and installed Ultrix. Initially this was via a VT320 serial console, but I received parts to make a video cable yesterday and made one up this morning. When I flipped the console switch I got a terminal display on the flat panel, and the keyboard worked fine. However, I wasn't able to get an X server up and running. Is this because of the previously mentioned restriction on graphics card support, ie, no support for SPX graphics. Is there a way in which I can check which graphics I have in this box (presumably failing all else I can open the box and check the PCB)? I seem to remember that compiling up X11R6 is straightforward on Ultrix. Would this be a possible solution if I do indeed have unsupported graphics with the shipped X server. Thanks for the help, Mark.
