I hope everything is running again as expected!

The keyword in your case is redundancy. For my main system, a mini
M2pro, I have a 15" M4 MBAir as backup if something goes wrong on the
hardware side. For the worst case I have two Linux-machines running. The
worst case being Apple bowing to the pressure from any groups.
Particularly governments.

BTW: macOS stands at 26.5.
