Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

10+ years of demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the following: Develop Cognitive computing application in business and information technology environment; Establish delivery organization that develops, implements, and operates cognitive computing applications; Project management; Gather and develop requirements to maintain project schedules and project plans; Identify risks and provide proper mitigation strategies; Develop functional requirements in software development; Change management; Cost benefit analysis; Agile development; Gap fit analysis; Use cases specifically: Speech recognition, Sentiment analysis, Face detection, natural language understanding/processing, Big Data, Hadoop, Fraud detection; Process models and frameworks: Unified process (UP), IBM Rational Unified Process (RUP), and oracle; Scripting languages, cloud computing, Java, .NET and MS office; Software development lifecycle (SDLC); Organizational and leadership; Interpersonal and negotiation skills; Ability to be a team player with a track record for meeting project deadlines.

Scope of Services and Deliverables:

* Assess Business Development Group’s project assessment process and tools to determine: The efficiency and consistency of the process; The effectiveness of decision processes as they pertain to strategy alignment, business case benefits, risk management, and measurable outcomes; The scope and breadth of the evaluation and prioritization models; The ability to ensure the ongoing operational management of benefits and maintained alignment to promised objectives; Opportunities to introduce tools and automation; Opportunities for greater efficiency so that smaller product development and innovation initiatives can be included; and Opportunities to introduce broader collaborative contribution in terms of assessments and decision making;

* Assess PMO and Project Management processes that interact with the Business Development Group’s project assessment process to determine: How effectively project sponsors and managers interact with the prioritization processes in terms of consistency of process and inputs; How effectively projects are setup to ensure the ongoing management of the resulting product; ;how effectively change management processes ensure that benefits can be adjusted throughout the project lifecycle while maintaining alignment with corporate goals and strategies; How product ownership is established at the completion of a project and how benefits are measured; and Where there are opportunities to introduce better collaboration;

* Assess the Cognitive Computing team’s ideation and prioritization processes to determine: How ideas are captured and facilitated through a prioritization and product development process; How ideas are captured in terms of establishing clear problem statements and value opportunities; How opportunities to create sustainable cognitive computing products are assessed and managed within a product lifecycle; and How cognitive computing project prioritization can be integrated into the Business Development Group’s project assessment process’

* Deliverable (Assessment and Recommendations Presentation): Present results of the assessment; Provide process improvement recommendation: Provide a gap/fit for an “Opportunity Management’ solution.
