Am I correct that only 2 Apollo astronauts had done EVAs prior to landing on the moon? That would be Aldrin (11) and Cernan (17). Scott (15) was supposed to do an EVA on Gemini 8, but the flight was terminated after an issue with a prior objective (docking to an Agena target) resulted in de-activating the OAMS and activating the RCS. The count seems to be 3 CMPs that had done Gemini EVAs ... Cernan (10), Collins (11), and Gordon (12). Stafford (10), Armstrong (11), Lovell (13), and Young (16) were the IVAs for the Gemini EVAs that went on to fly on Apollo, and 2 of them did moonwalks. /dps -- Killing a mouse was hardly a Nobel Prize-worthy exercise, and Lawrence went apopleptic when he learned a lousy rodent had peed away all his precious heavy water. _The Disappearing Spoon_, Sam Kean
