And this goes beyond just the portion of science that is teachable. A true (or "natural") scientist often is more than just what he got trained in. All humans as infants are natural scientists finding out about the world around them, but in later years of life many cease that sense as soon as they become familiar enough with their surroundings to get by. But some won't! And this distinguishes between different species of humans. The latter are the ones who stay natural scientists, even with no training or skill or knowledge. Among the latter, majority get overwhelmed with vicissitudes of life and automatically their everyday spontaneous scientific activity goes to margins and they get on with their easy lives, but a minority choose to seek more and end up eventually becoming experts in natural sciences (physics, biology,..). Modern humans keep that sense in them and it stays in them in reserve in case they get the need to use it. Cro-Magnon human does science only when an award mechanism is in place.
