I've been an advocate for most of my life using the caveat "you can't own what you won't defend." I may be alone insisting on sticking to the original purpose, but it needs to start somewhere. After all, at the peak well over 100,000 newsgroups with topical titles were in use. Laziness is not a valid reason for abandoning that structure and all the work that went into it. I argued strongly for and against the creation of various groups. So where most people today are not, I am heavily invested in Usenet. Thanks for providing this little platform for me to vent.
