In the real world, where I live, the city collects money
& gives nothing in return; it virtue signals, nothing more.

Nothing is greener than "Greenhouse Earth".

Dirty coal is OK for China & India,
but Seattleites have to drive Tesla's or get out.

Exactly. But the US is going to solve the climate-change problem by
(get this) becoming dependant upon China to build wind turbines and
solar panels for us.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

Wind and solar are said to give only 3 percent of what we need now.

Coal trains rumble through town frequently, all headed west. They have
to make a detour to BC because Washington and Oregon are too good to
allow coal to be shipped from their ports. The coal is high quality
anthracite which is much less polluting than the bituminous or lignite
that is used if anthracite isn't available.

It's ironic that after screwing themselves several different ways
Germany is firing up the coal power generation plants and most burn
lignite. Germany has some bituminous but I don't think there is any
anthracite.
