I took Latin in HS from a Nun and failed it. I then decided foriegn languages were not for me. At the Univrsity, Engineering was the only major that did not require a foreign language, so... it was excellent choice! yea, I flunked the first freshman english class there twice, too. But I prevailed. Later the Church dropped Latin. At that Catholic High School, They would wax the floors by cutting up those little vocational candles mixing it with a lot sawdust, thrown on the floor for a day.

Same reason I never took Spanish. In High School it was supposedly an easy grade, but since I was interested in science, I quickly figured out that there would never be ANYTHING written in Spanish that I would want to read in the original. Of course today, it seems I made a mistake since Spanish is soon to be our official language.
