From a scientific point of view we ought to be pondering the calculations involved in these choices. Russia as an enemy is an option; it is not a dictate. Why the cold war was reignited at all... I think this is a relevant question. Certainly on the small and immediate time scale we cannot trust the information we are fed. On the longer time scale we have researchers and after the fact loose lips are not so difficult to find. It may be true that some operations will remain forever secret, but in sum I think we should hope to find some coherent picture. For now I sense only incoherence.

Possibly we are at the edge of a truly global culture and capitalism versus socialism has to be determined. I can readily explain that socialism in its many forms will win this battle, without getting terribly personal.

That we would care to reignite a mentality of 'kill a commie for your mommy' and that people will literally be gassed and lit on fire as has happened in many socialist countries lately: complicity should be pondered as one cowers in fear.

This has nothing to do with capitalism vs. socialism. It has everything
to do with a power hungry megalomaniac controlling an
oligarchy/kleptocracy and having control of one of the most powerful
armies around, feeding his lust for power.

Putin has the support of India, China, Islamic World, African and South American countries.
More than 50% of the world in terms of numbers, if not dollars.
He is doing what he must to keep Russia safe, by fighting criminals who have got power by a bloody coup.
Pity no one in the cowardly West has the guts to put up a convincing argument against his special military operations. Just fake emotionalism.
Innocent Ukrainians are suffering and that is very bad. Just shows how vigilant we must be to keep good and worthy people in the top positions, as opposed to comedians covering up corruption

Right on Banejee. Seems we are in a minority here but that is no problem. We all are developing our beliefs in our living rooms; almost all of us. Serious researchers are developing relations with Ukrainians on the ground; ignoring the msm dictates; seeking the truth. This is what we need to do unconditionally. To add Ukraine to the long recent list. Hmmm... I'm not sure that I'll get this right and probably not chronological either:
Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Venezuela (and quite a few others in central America that have made it under the radar I believe just in the last ten years say), Iran, ..., Ukraine.

If this is democracy in action then I'm afraid you are misled. This is capitalism in action. If anything what the U.$.A. is proving is that democracy is not worth a damn. Look to the socialist countries for democracy; not a capitalist nation. We are living a lie here. The American dream... Wake Up!

The incoherency of our position as it is built upon disinformation only accrues into the dream state deeper and deeper. The deep dream state awaits us all. And what will it look like? Why must it hold in secret its payload? Something, sir, is about to go boom.

I don't know what is meant by democracy. If democracy means will of the people, then all the successful and popular dictators who would have won any election hands down - therefore making them unnecessary - were all democratic as most supported them. I don't understand the democracy of the US, if indeed it is one. If you ask Trump, he will say that since there was rigging there was no valid election.
So if Trump is correct, then Biden and Zelensky are two peas in the same pod, and that shows quite clearly as a matter of fact.

Ahh, let's harken back to 2016 when all of this Russia nonsense exploded. Bernie Sanders was in danger of winning the homeland, you see? We are this close to swaying, and by swaying I might mean snapping; as in system failure as the truths that are obscured by media lies come to light. The only option is to stop the system up with such confetti layered in explosives. Don't be a NYTwit. NPR sucks ass. The Clinton News Network et al: Fake America Fake Again.

Since you all opposing whitey racist bigoted enslaving genocidal Nazi or Einsteinised scum, are so bad, Putin has to be damn good and this the majority of the world's population understands. Your lies and hypocrisies work no more to fool the victims.

Vladimir Putin is the International Hero, as I had declared years ago. He has saved Russians from the rapacity of psychopathic western billionaires and now will go on to save the planet.

The Western world that still has worth, must reassert that worth, and treat the likes of Moroneys as abominables. Otherwise they too will meet the same or worse fate than the white blue eyed Ukranians.

Stop being so stupid, like Archie, whodat, Alsing, Penino, etc. Be brave, and truthful, not such cowardly opportunists. Or else your cosy world will turn into rubble, within seconds.

Small people can only think in terms of money. The more money they get to waste, the greater they are esteemed in their polluting society. I get my payment from the Divine. In plenty. And this is not what these arrogant lying hypocritical wasteful fools like Moroney et al can ever understand. Had they any worth, they would have supported my physics, now undeniable - absolutely.

That amounts to support.
Modi is the most rightwing leader (called fascist, capitalist etc. by his opponents) and yet he does not support Ukraine.
All parties, thus, support Russia. And why not, Russia is the most trusted friend India ever had.
Only USSR supported India in 1971 when India liberated the Bangladeshis from the genocidal racist Pakistanis and thus created the state of Bangladesh.
Then the West was fully on the side of Pakistan!
Social media in India is all for Russia. Ukrainians are seen as unfortunate people let down by a stupid and corrupt leadership, illegally installed.
China has made it very clear that NATO provoked Russia.

> "Islamic World"? Iran.

UAE too, so both sides of the Shia-Sunni divide support Russia.
Amazingly, Israel does not support the jew Zelensky, but not that amazing seeing that Israel made a pre-emptive attack in 1967.

> "African"?
> Something like Eritrea.

And wherever there was western hegemony, which Russia is seen as resisting.

> South America? Venezuela and Cuba.

Certainly.

 And
> Belarus. And North Korea, of course. Everyone else is neutral or
> supports Ukraine.

Those neutral do not support Ukraine.
Nobody likes invasion, for the purpose of UN is to avoid invasion.
Then why NATO, what is it for? There is no ideological cold war any more.

The world still runs on moral principles, no matter what clever atheists and greedy thugs may say.
So the lesson is that if people surrender top power to stupid incompetent comedians like Zelensky, they make this showman a puppet for the unscrupulous, cruel, greedy foreign interests who do not care about the welfare of the people. Will do what it takes to get them driven out, bombed, killed, robbed... just to make money from war industry. This has been seen over and over again. There is no alternative but to put the most suitable people in power. That makes all the difference between success and disastrous failure.

> > More than 50% of the world in terms of numbers, if not dollars.

They support Russia. No doubt about that.

> > He is doing what he must to keep Russia safe, by fighting criminals who have got power by a bloody coup.
> > Pity no one in the cowardly West has the guts to put up a convincing argument against his special military operations.
> Bombing hospitals and apartments and invading without provocation aren't
> convincing arguments?

Putin had sufficient provocation. If Ukraine joined NATO then Russia would be in deep danger from the West which wants their resources cheap, the age-old parasitic Western way of life of the elites. Get for free or cheap, sell high, make tons of profits, then show how good and great you are. Trickle some down to the hangers-on. Demonize the rest.
Putin is simply doing what he must.
Yes Ukrainians are suffering no doubt but that is the fault of their illegal government which was formed after a bloody coup.
Had they any decency they would not let things like this happen at all. They should have accepted Russia's just demands.

Czechoslovakia was divided very peaceful into two, with no fuss at all and continuing to flourish with no animosity.
Why not Ukraine?
There is no chance against Russia. Unlike UK or Taiwan, they are not protected by any sea. Russia will simply be there until they give up. No one can throw them out, and their lines of communication cannot be broken by guerilla activity - if that is even possible.
But the UK is cheering them on in their futile struggle. How disgusting! All to make Russia look bad.
Had the Ukraine leaders more sense, they would never have come to this wretched state.
Again, this shows the need for wise leadership, not available from comedians turning into tragedians.

> > Just fake emotionalism.
> > Innocent Ukrainians are suffering and that is very bad. Just shows how vigilant we must be to keep good and worthy people in the top positions, as opposed to comedians covering up corruption

According to Russians, the Ukrainian Nazis are fighting from hospitals and apartment buildings.
Many civilians have already left as refugees. Yes, some are trapped and may get killed.
Which is, of course, very sad.
Seems to me that they are better off than the hapless Afghans, Iraqis, Syrians and Libyans. At least as refugees they get full support from their white brethren. They can come back to a safe country when it is over.

Cheers,
Arindam Banerjee

Support of Ukraine? Really.

I'd suspect a true fascist would support or at least admire Putin.

You are delusional. Neutral is neutral.

And why not, Russia is the most trusted friend India ever had.

You got lucky.

It was too bad the world then was divided too much into two sides and
the attitude of "the friend of my enemy is also my enemy" or at least
bad guys.

No, support of Russia.
I did not think I needed to spell it out.

It was obvious from the line written earlier, see above.

Now, To Rule The World, one needs to acquire as many nations as
possible.

That means Putin needs to invade Paris, France and all the other
states around it...

in other words, Putin needs to invade and acquire all the states...

The United States of Europe.

No. When Europe distances itself from the U.S. all will be well.
Do you think Syrian refugees; Libyan refugees; Iraqi refugees are helping the situation? Ukranian refugees?

When Europe stands up for itself the situation will be different.
We will know the truth of the situation now in the future.
The information served hot is corrupt.
I guarantee it.
How?
We are saturated in U.$. lies.
Frog, pot, low heat...
As to who ultimately is driving this machine: I have no idea; maybe nobody.
That is the scariest thought. Given Russiagate and the necessity of Biden writing the history of this era... how strange that it all would pivot around an obscure country like Ukraine.

In time I think we will see the truth here so long as they can prevent infiltration:
