If you're on a moving train with me, and your face happens to collide 
with my fist, it won't do you much harm (despite my best efforts).

Stick your head out of the window, and have your face collide with the 
first of someone standing on a station platform, and you'll quickly 
realise that frames of reference affect how you measure things.
