Yes.  "Room" as in 3 dimensional space.  The devices are ~2.5 cubic inches;
an RJ45 is a sizable (relatively speaking) portion of that.

And, aside from initial installation, there is no need for a connector
(unless the device has to be replaced due to a failure) beyond making
the initial connection from cable end to device.
