#8436 — remember to git pull

Subjectremember to git pull
Message-ID<roTnc-3AB-17@gated-at.bofh.it>
Hello,

Please remember to do a git pull before updating a package. Even more so
if you are going to do a release. Otherwise if other people have made
changes and commited them, things can get rather confusing rather
quickly. git-dpm doesn't exactly help with its .git-dpm which may have
conflicts when merging two branches.

(or even better, use the quick-update script instead)

I am just fixing the billiard package which appears to have suffered
from this problem.

Thanks.

quick-update script?

Oh, and +1 for the recommendation! I'd just add to also be sure that you
commit and push your changes. ;) I've had one or two cases where the repo
doesn't match the archive. <cough>dgit</cough>

In the python-modules repository - it will also warn you if you have
unpushed changes or dirty repositories.
