Hi folks, I would like to join the Debian Python Team. I have adopted the python-editables package (previously orphaned, bug #1093730 <https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1093730>) and submitted a merge request on Salsa: https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/python-editables/-/merge_requests/1 My Salsa username is: https://salsa.debian.org/lastnode I'm interested in helping maintain Python packages in Debian. I have reviewed and accept the team's policy documented at: https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/tools/python-modules/blob/master/policy.rst Note: I previously uploaded the package directly to - https://mentors.debian.net/package/python-editables/ <https://mentors.debian.net/package/python-editables/>- but the DD who is helping me and will sponsor the package - https://nm.debian.org/person/anuradha/ - suggested that I take the Salsa approach since this package is maintained by the Debian Python Team. Thank you! I look forward to working with you all. Best, Mahangu Weerasinghe https://salsa.debian.org/lastnode

Thank you very much! I’m excited to begin contributing. Whenever someone has the bandwidth, could I please request a review on my first Salsa MR? https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/python-editables/-/merge_requests/1 Thank you! > You can directly push your changes to the repo without going through the hassle of MRs since there are three branches. However i advise you to test the changes on your fork before pushing it to the repos in debian python. Noted, thanks! I've pushed my adoption changes to the python-editables master branch in Salsa - https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/python-editables * New maintainer (Closes: #1093730) * Update Standards-Version to 4.7.2 * Convert d/watch to version 5 RFC822 format Local testing I did: * uscan verified watch file works * gbp buildpackage built successfully * lintian passed with no errors Could someone please sponsor this upload? Do let me know if I've missed anything, as this is my first package adoption. Thank you!
