Hi,

I'm about to file ~40 bugs for autopkgtest regressions with NumPy 2.4.
Most of them are caused by expired deprecations. You can find them in
the release notes together with their suggested replacements [1]. The
most prominent ones seem to be the `trapz` function (replaced by
`trapezoid`) and attempts to cast arrays to scalars.

I am going to file the bugs with severity "important" and wait a couple
weeks before uploading to unstable and raising bugs to "serious". A DD
list is attached.

I know these kinds of updates, while unavoidable, create some annoying
churn. I tried to keep the disruption small by waiting for a few patch
releases which fixed a bunch of regressions in NumPy already. Feel free
to contact me or reply to this thread if any unexpected issues surface.

Cheers
Timo
