I installed Debian 13.0 on a different drive. I had to update to
security update 6.12.41, because of this bug "1088522", that had its fix
added to 6.12.41.

I was wrong about it not having the 3 kworker processes, - they were
there, near the top of the process list.

SO I continued my digging.

In looking for errors in in the logs I came up with this.

5.806493] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: NVIDIA TU117 (167000a1)

I tried to manually install the missing firmware files, this failed with
the GPU locking up as soon as the nouveau driver loaded. I had to use
the internal GPU to boot and go in and delete the firmware files.

My question, why is it looking for the 570 firmware files?? but if they
are loaded the system does not boot.

And also the the nouveau driver is disabling the PCI power management to
avoid a bug

Some history, On Debian 12 I had to use the Nividia drivers because my
computer would not boot with the nouveau drivers with 3 screens
connected, See bug 1088522. This was fixed just as Debian 13 was coming
out and was added to the security update as mentioned above. I am
wondering if there needs to be some more optimization of the nouveau
drivers to work with this GPU chipset.

Regards,

Benjamin
