Follow-up Comment #5, bug #26535 (project gnustep):

Yes, I think this makes sense.  My initial version was to check if the current
thread is the main thread but that's useless.  Any drawing in secondary
threads occurs after +sharedApplication which sets up the server in the main
thread.
