It's a bit unconvenient, but not that bad. The Followup to NNTP is not going to work, but if you reply by email the generated subject and references headers are valid. You just need to send by email changing the 'To:' header To: help-gnu-emacs@gnu.org Possibly it can be automated for that particular gmane.emacs.help newsgroup in some of the gnus-*-hook variables.
