I always thought this was somewhat incongruous. Some Linux-based operating systems have a "builtins(1)" man page, with a bunch of symlinks to it for each of bash's builtins. You're probably using one of those systems. Other Linux-based systems do NOT have this man page. wooledg:~$ man declare No manual entry for declare wooledg:~$ man 1 declare No manual entry for declare in section 1
