Man haette die Gebaeudefronten zuruecksetzen und damit mehr Platz fuer Radwege schaffen koennen. Inzwischen haben sie dort Radwege, aber teilweise ziemlich verkrampft irgendwie hinzugewuergt. Manche sind auf umgewidmeten Buergersteigen, wo einem entweder eine Beifahrertuer vor den Lenker knallen kann oder jemand schiesst aus einer Gebaeudetuer. So macht man das richtig: https://goo.gl/maps/fTZcKmKGzdbr3RZo8 Altgewachsene Stadt, etwa 150 Jahre alt und man hat eiskalt eine ganze Strassenseite an Parkplatzen geopfert. Z.B. waren Teile von Duesseldorf Anfang der 60er noch unbebaute Ruinen Grundstuecke. Wir haben da als Kinder (illegalerweise) gespielt. Auf meinen 600 m Heimweg sehe ich täglich mehrere Radfahrer, und an die Regeln hält sich meist keiner, oder selten mal ein einziger. Aber > Hauptsache, der Helm sitzt. Das ist eigentlich auch genau die Erfahrung, die ich auf meinem nur unwesentlich längeren Heimweg fast täglich mache. Und auch gegenüber schwächeren Verkehrsteilnehmer wird sich in der Regel recht asozial verhalten - wir haben hier ums Eck eine kleine Fußgängerzone, die Quote der Nudelsiebträger die das interessiert, dürfte bei deutlich unter 10% liegen - ist halt der kürzeste Weg...

Vorne ein Bus, dahinter ein PKW. Der Busfahrer war absolut professionell, der ist kurz vorgefahren und hat dann demonstrativ angehalten. Nachdem ich rechts vorbei war, hab ich mich mit einem Daumen nach oben bedankt. Der war nicht von hier - hiesige Buskutscher nehmen Radlern in der Regel* die Vorfahrt - der Fahrplan ist wichtiger. Guido * die Anfänger eher nicht, anscheinend nur die erfahrenen Kutscher.

Ich fahr ja nun auch selber ziemlich viel mit dem Fahrrad und glaube, eine größere Übersicht zu haben, weil ich da auch die Leute bemerke, die dich als Fußgänger überhaupt nicht tangieren und die du möglicherweise schlicht übersiehst. Wer sich korrekt verhält, fällt kaum auf. Natürlich geht es nicht an, auf dem Gehweg zu fahren, jedenfalls wenn man älter als 10 ist (allerdings hat der Gesetzgeber dämlicherweise auch gestattet, dass ein Erwachsener mit einem kleinen Kind auf dem Gehweg fährt). Und freilich gibt es eine Reihe Radfahrer, welche sich an keinerlei Regel halten und völlig rücksichtslos unterwegs sind. Sie verlassen sich halt darauf, dass all die anderen Verkehrsteilnehmer, vorzugsweise natürlich Autofahrer, ihren Schutz übernehmen und sie eben nicht überfahren, wenn sie bei "Rot" über die Ampel brettern oder in der Gegenrichtung durch die Einbahnstraße fahren oder auch nach Laune links oder rechts vom Gehsteig auf die Fahrbahn platzen, ohne auf den Verkehr dort zu achten. Fussgänger werden gerne mal zur Seite geklingelt oder verbal angepöbelt, wenn sie nicht flugs zur Seite springen. Aber dennoch, es sind nur relativ wenige Radfahrer, welche sich derart benehmen. Sie fallen allerdings mehr auf als die anderen, welche sich anständig verhalten. > Aber Hauptsache, der Helm sitzt. Ja, es hat den Anschein, dass man sich den Status eines überzeugten Helmgegners durch eine Anzahl von Köppern hart erarbeiten muss. Das funktioniert vermutlich ähnlich wie die Warteschlangen am Everest. Sich da mit reinzustellen ist auch am ehesten durch häufigen langen Sauerstoffentzug schon im Vorfeld zu erklären. Aufgeschlagene Knie, Schürfwunden an Armen und Händen, kräftige Prellungen am Brustkorb. Bei Regen und abschüssiger Strecke (Tempo 25-30) ein Schlagloch übersehen, das hat mir den Lenker aus der Hand geschlagen.
