Ich bin ja auch langjähriger hardcre Emacs (früher XEmacs) Nutzer. Aber 
die IDEs von Jetbrains sind wirklich gut.

Pycharm Professional kann ich empfehlen. Die Lizenzkosten zahlen sich 
schnell aus
