Das ist auch m.E. tatsächlich ein Problem bei so einer Reorganisation
von Newsgroups, und zwar vor allem, weil Dejanews und Google News
weggefallen sind und ein Ersatz, der ebenso bekannt wäre und dessen
Bestand auch langfristig gesichert wäre, kaum erkennbar ist. Seitdem ist
die Vorhaltezeit auf den Newsservern wieder von großer Bedeutung als
Archiv. Dieses Jahr wird zudem individual.de geschlossen.

Eine Umbenennung in der Form von Löschung und Neuanlage unter neuem
Namen führt tatsächlich zum Verlust aller alten Postings. Wir verlieren
damit unser kollektives Gedächtnis. Nach dem Wegfall der meisten FAQs,
wäre das ein weiterer großer Verlust an Netzkultur.

Und die de.comp.sys.mac enthält praktisch alles, was es im
deutschsprachigen Usenet zum Thema Mac gab und gibt.

Es ist tatsächlich die einzige Gruppe, die ich aus der Subhierarchie
überhaupt abonniert habe, eben weil alles Wichtige immer in der
misc-Gruppe lief.

Wenn der Erhalt der *.misc von mindestens einer weiteren Gruppe abhängt,
wäre ich dafür, *.soc daneben zu erhalten. Man sieht ja auch jetzt, dass
die *.soc noch "lebt".

Keine Einwände zu den übrigen Löschvorschlägen.
