It appeared six days ago for me - I happened to notice because I saw it about a day after I'd just commented about its absence. For me that was last Thursday morning, which in Pacific Daylight Time would be about mid afternoon Wednesday 28 September. It wasn't there 24 hours earlier. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz

That's too bad. While I think everyone who can update to 10.12 should
update, I don't like Apple following Micrsoft's lead in downloading a
new system the user didn't ask for.

True, so it's not as bad. But 10.12 isn't an update, it's a new version and I don't feel this is the best thing to do. -- I WILL NOT EXPOSE THE IGNORANCE OF THE FACULTY Bart chalkboard Ep. 8F15

It is not automatically installed, and it is only downloaded automatically if the user has selected that option. While I personally don't select that, I think it would be a bad idea for Apple to NOT do it if the user checked the box that said they want it. That's completely different from Microsoft trying to deceive users to get them to install it.
