Remove the 3rd-party memory, do that. Run without it and see if the
system continues to crash.

If it still crashes, look for an Apple Genius Bar and have them check it
out.

There's a limited amount of things you can do with limping hardware. Be
ready to replace the motherboard or at the very least buy more 3rd party
memory. The Crucial stuff I bought has been flawless for over 3 years,
so I doubt that's it. But Apple will point fingers at whatever isn't
theirs.

I got 2 Zeppelin 2G/1333/1288UL Memory chips out of that system.

All right what the hell are they?

Well I have no time with no-name products.

Personally I prefer Kingston memory products.

I had to settle with Corsair though :-(

*WHOOSH*

I'll spell it out just for you: the reason you aren't getting much help
with this is you have provided the bare minimum of information in your
questions. Garbage in, garbage out. Nobody wants to hold your hand and
pull your teeth just to help you out. Show that you have put some effort
into it and you will find others more willing to help.

hm, never heard of Zeppelin RAM in my career...
Searching for them, there is 1 seller in the UK and some more in eastern
eurotean countries.

Maybe you could tell us, what sort of portable Mac is crashing?
The Model Identifier from System Profiler could be a start.

Cheers
Andreas

Crashes how exactly? Is it reproducible due to certain actions? You've
given almost no details at all.

On what information are you basing this possible memory chip
incompatibility? Again, details please.

Depends on the nature of the crashes - see above.

A clue might be a start.

Essentially, you've just stepped out into the parking lot of a greyhound
station in Toledo and yelled "Why doesn't my car start?" at the top of
your lungs. With your car parked in Sacramento. Do you actually think
you're going to get a useful answer?
